The WVCBA Political Action Committee (PAC) met last week to address the city council races in both Camarillo and Oxnard. After reviewing the field of candidates for three districts in Oxnard, the PAC believes the incumbent council members will best serve the residents and business community.
Those incumbents are:
District 1 – Bert Perello
District 2 – Gabriel Teran
District 6 – Gabriela Basua
“Things are going relatively well in Oxnard, and we believe stability on the City Council is important,” said WVCBA President and CEO Nancy Lindholm. “We like the direction the city is currently headed. City Council and city management are really making positive things happen.”
Regarding the races for Camarillo City Council, three districts are up for election this November. Two out of the three districts do not have incumbents running for re-election, which has attracted many candidates. The PAC sent questionnaires to all candidates in the three districts to assess their positions and priorities for Camarillo’s future. The PAC will review all of the responses and issue endorsements in the near future.
The PAC also endorsed Jacque McMillan for Calleguas Municipal Water District, Division 6.
