Business Advocacy CommitteeThe mission of the Business Advocacy Committee is to carry out an advocacy program on behalf of WVCBA's membership and business community within the governmental and political arenas to foster effective working relationships. Through our strong relationships with elected officials at all levels (city, county and state), we advocate for the rights of local businesses and take positions on proposed ordinances, rulings and legislation. The BAC is part of the WVCBA’s commitment to representing the interests of business with government.

Alliance AmbassadorsThe Ambassadors are WVCBA champions whose mission is to cultivate and celebrate our community of new, current and prospective members. Ambassadors have first-hand knowledge about maximizing WVCBA membership and are committed to sharing their expertise and positive experiences with fellow members and the business community.

Education CommitteeThe Education Committee’s mission is to promote and enhance a positive working relationship between the business and education communities for the benefit of children who represent our future. The Education Committee does this through various programs, the longest of which is the Educator of the Month program in which the WVCBA and the business community honor outstanding educators with an award. Educators are nominated by their peers and winners are chosen by a selection committee. Latinos In BusinessThe purpose of the Latinos In Business committee is to provide education, mentorship, and networking in order to prompt the growth of business and foster entrepreneurship.

Military Appreciation CommitteeThe mission of the Military Appreciation Committee is to develop positive and productive interaction between the business community and local military installations to facilitate support for our local military members, their families, and their mission. The Military Appreciation Committee oversees the Military Discount Program, which provides local discounts to military personnel and their families. A major focus of the committee is the Military Appreciation Dinner, an annual awards dinner honoring enlisted service personnel.

Women in BusinessThe Women in Business committee is dedicated to empowering women to thrive professionally and personally, and creating opportunities for women to work together and build relationships that will improve the economic vitality and quality of life in Camarillo and Oxnard, and support the mission of the WVCBA.

Young ProfessionalsThe Young Professionals committee provides a platform for the next generation of leaders to build strong connections, develop leadership skills, partner with business and community leaders, and interact with elected officials. Members will find programs that empower them to broaden their awareness of issues facing community and business, become more competitive in the marketplace, and fine-tune their leadership skills.

Political Action CommitteeThe WVCBA’s Political Action Committee (PAC) represents our dedication to be politically active. The WVCBA PAC is normally only active every two years during the election cycle. Occasionally ballot measures or office vacancies may activate the group in off-election times. Candidate forums for local and state elections are hosted by the WVCBA PAC.
The mission of the WVCBA Political Action Committee is to seek out, evaluate qualifications of, and endorse candidates for public office who support the ideals of our free enterprise system. The WVCBA’s PAC generally evaluates candidates for local, county and state offices.
