The WVCBA recently welcomed StretchLab Camarillo as a new member! StretchLab provides 1-on-1 assisted stretching and is on a mission to "Live Long" and help people do the things that they love, better. No two bodies are the same and no two stretches at StretchLab are the same. Owner Lauren Glick shares why leaving a career at the fire department led her to open this life-changing business. What can you tell us about the services at StretchLab?
One-on-one stretching is about identifying tightness and imbalances in your body and customizing a stretch routine that is just for you. Our clients may come in with pain, tightness or specific focus areas, but they keep coming back and commit to their flexibility journey once they experience the freedom that comes with having a wider range of motion and flexibility. How and when did your business get started? October 24, 2022, was our soft opening and we started servicing members in studio. Our Grand Opening is on December 8! The business got started by me. I was suffering from Psoriatic arthritis, in which I had to retire out from a city fire department because of the extreme inflammation and my inability to move. A couple years later of therapy, finding the right medication and StretchLab, it was the answer to getting into my problem area, which were my joints. I had to take the leap of faith and bring this modality to as many people as possible! What’s one thing StretchLab is known for? Elongating muscles to relieve, stress, stiffness, tension and pain in joints. PNF (Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) Helps improve range of motion, flexibility and mobility. PNF was founded by doctors in the 40s for patients with MS and arthritis. PNF is typically used by professional athletes. PNF stretching is always on a tension scale and never into pain. PNF stretching is for every body, we also have young athletes as young as 9-years-old as members! Why did you choose Camarillo for its location? I graduated from Cal State Channel Islands and love Camarillo, so that was my first location that I have started. The other two locations in Ventura and Simi Valley are under my name and in contract and will be started in the next couple of years! Camarillo has a large amount of the aging generation, and mobility/flexibility/range of motion unfortunately never increases with age. The aging generation is a big part of our demographic for StretchLab since is so beneficial to help keep our joints moving as we age. Camarillo also have a large number of country clubs and golf courses. Stretchlab corporate is partnered with the PGA golf tournament. They are a demographic that we work with as well. The fitness demographic is also a big number of our members for injury prevention. We have a great relationship with Chiropractors and Physical therapists in the area, since when patients are done with therapy. Doctors send patients to us, for extended care. Are there any upcoming events? Our Grand Opening is December 8 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a ribbon cutting through the WVCBA! We will have food, drinks and a raffle/giveaway! We will also have a couple of other small businesses in the area for tables for samples and purchasing items! How can the community help? We are currently offering 50% off first-time stretches! That would make a first-time stretch:
