Member Spotlight: Cybele Parsignault of Marketing Maven

​Get to know Cybele Parsignault, our "Maven of the Month" brought to you by WVCBA's Women in Business committee. Cybele (pronounced "c-bell"), Marketing Strategist at Camarillo-based Marketing Maven, is a highly trained marketing professional who specializes in developing integrated marketing strategies for brands. Cybele is a marketing veteran with nearly two decades of experience within the industry. 

Tell us about your work at Marketing Maven.
I am the Marketing Strategist with Camarillo-based Marketing Maven. I meet with established and up-and-coming brands that may need some help growing awareness. We create campaigns through PR, social media, influencer, digital advertising, SEO, website audits and market research. My favorite part is the market research! Marketing Maven is using AI and machine learning to build strategic marketing campaigns. It’s really effective and surprisingly affordable. 

As someone involved in business in the region, how does the WVCBA help you?
I love attending the WVBCA networking events! I’ve met and connected with many local people about their businesses and made some friends along the way. 

What’s an interesting fact about Marketing Maven most people don’t know?
Marketing Maven is a SBA certified 8(a) and WOSB Native American owned small business. Our founder is a tribal member of Cherokee Nation. She was also the 2022 Entrepreneur of the Year Honoree from the Top 10 Camarillo Awards through WVCBA.

Do you have any marketing advice for business owners?
Yes! Make sure you carve out money in your budget to spend on marketing. Think of the product you create as the car and marketing as the gas. Without gas, your product or service isn’t going anywhere. Use data to determine the most impactful marketing tactics then allocate your budget there. Having a “throw the spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks” approach is the opposite of having a data-driven marketing approach.

Any other details/tidbits/insight you wish to share?
Marketing Maven turned 14-years-old this year. The company, which is now bicoastal with its headquarters in Camarillo, was started in our founder, Lindsey Carnett’s, guest bedroom when she was 26-years-old. We have had a New York City office for over 10 years now. We’ve been on the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies in the United States for two consecutive years. Marketing Maven was also awarded the Entrepreneur 360 Most Entrepreneurial Companies in America Award.
