Event Recap: CSU Channel Islands Breakfast Connection

Last week, CSU Channel Islands and WVCBA joined together to host the CSUCI Connection Breakfast. Members of the business and education communities came together to celebrate the University and highlight the impact it has on the region at large.  The event began with networking opportunities for attendees, followed by Dr. Richard Yao's, the President of CSU Channel Islands, presentation of the State of the University address.

Dr. Yao provided updates on enrollment statistics and plans, collaborations with community partners, and the expansion of more degree programs. In addition, attendees received an update on the CSUCI/Santa Barbara Zoo joint conservation center from Professor of Anthropology and Executive Director of Regional Education Partnerships Jennifer Perry, and with insights from President and CEO of the Santa Barbara Zoo, Rich Block. CSUCI also awarded Parker Hannifin Corporation their Business Partner of the Year, Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV) recognized as Non-Profit Partner of the Year, and CSUCI Professor of Biology Ruben Alarcón as Faculty Partner of the Year.
