Advocate for Business
Networking and community involvement are two of the top reasons businesses and individuals join the WVCBA. But one of the biggest membership benefits is being connected to a business organization that is advocating on their behalf with government.
Advocacy for its members is the WVCBA’s top priority, and members often turn to the us when they’re dealing with business challenges they’re unable to solve on their own.
Business Advocacy Committee
For those who want a seat at the table, the WVCBA’s Business Advocacy Committee (BAC) is committed to scrutinizing issues affecting business on the local, state and federal levels. This dedicated group of volunteers regularly meets with elected officials in an effort to find balanced solutions to problems facing business, our environment and government.
We provide numerous opportunities for the business community and government officials to come together, including the annual State of the City addresses by the Mayors of Camarillo and Oxnard, where the mayor provides updates on what is happening in each city and where its priorities are.
Chambers of Commerce Alliance of Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties
The WVCBA is a partner in the Chambers of Commerce Alliance of Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties, which is a coalition of chambers of commerce and business organizations formed to act as a watchdog for business. The Alliance currently represents more than 300,000 jobs in the region.
Associations of Influence
The WVCBA also is a member of the California Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
