Camarillo and Oxnard, Calif., FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – West Ventura County Business Alliance (WVCBA) will host an important conversation about education at its quarterly Statement Series luncheon on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Ventura County Office of Education. WVCBA is the chamber of commerce advocating for businesses in Camarillo and Oxnard. These quarterly lunches are designed to bridge the communities with overarching topics that are relevant to both and provides a forum for local business leaders and residents to voice their concerns and learn about ongoing initiatives.

The event features a powerhouse lineup of education officials who will discuss hot button issues including enrollment, immigration, staffing, government funding, and more. The panelists are:
  • Dr. Susan A. Andrzejewski, newly appointed Interim President of California State University Channel Islands
  • Dr. Rick MacLennan, Chancellor of Ventura County Community College District
  • Dr. Tom McCoy, Superintendent of Oxnard Union High School District
  • Dr. César Morales, Ventura County Superintendent of Schools
  • Dr. John A. Nunes, President of California Lutheran University

“We’re thrilled to bring this conversation to the business community as the new school year begins,” says Andy Conli, WVCBA President & CEO. “It’s crucial to understand the challenges and opportunities for our education system and how they impact workforce development and career education.”

The August event is made possible by Title Sponsor County Schools Federal Credit Union and Partner Sponsor Pegasus Transit. Tickets are $50 per person for WVCBA members and $60 per person for non-members and includes lunch. Reservations must be made by Friday, August 8, via Eventbrite or by calling the WVCBA at (805) 738-9100. Ventura County Office of Education is located at 5100 Adolfo Road in Camarillo.

The Partner Sponsor level is available for $750 and includes four seats at a reserved table and a half-page ad. Contact WVCBA’s Kyle Jewell at [email protected] or (805) 415-0527 about sponsorships.
