WVCBA is delighted to welcome Pipiripau as a member! Located in Oxnard's historic Heritage Square, Pipiripau offers apparel, art, and events rooted in traditional Mexican culture but with a fresh, contemporary twist. Their mission is to celebrate the rich, beautiful, and layered depth of Mexican culture through art and community events. Co-founder Rolando Rubalcava shares more about the business. What products or services do you provide? We design high-quality clothing and accessories that honor our heritage while staying modern and relevant. Beyond that, we create community-driven events like Palomazo Music Series/Feest and Panteón Fest where we celebrate Dia De Los Muertos. How and when did the business get started? Pipiripau began in 2011 with my brother Heriberto and I. We didn’t know much about the t-shirt business but loved design and wanted to make our art sustainable—so we even sold our car to get started. Fresh out of film school, I built the website and started photographing products and creating videos to bring our vision to life. Our first sale came three months after launch, from a friend, showing us the power of community and leading us to pop-up events. What’s one thing you're known for over your competitors? We’re known for our commitment to turning ideas into real, meaningful experiences—whether through art or community events. Why did you choose Oxnard for the business location? Oxnard is home—where our culture, family, and community roots run deep. It’s the ideal place to build a brand that honors Mexican traditions while connecting with a community that truly embraces them. Do you have any new or upcoming products or events?
Yes, in addition to launching new products, we’re preparing for the 3rd annual Panteón Fest at Heritage Square in Oxnard. We transform the space into a vibrant Día de los Muertos celebration featuring traditional Mexican dances, a theatrical play, live music, a Catrín/Catrina contest, curated vendors, intricate altars, and face painting—offering a meaningful experience that honors our heritage while uniting the community. How can the business community help? The business community can support us by partnering through sponsorships, collaborating on creative initiatives, and encouraging employee volunteerism. Volunteers are essential in bringing our vision to life. Together, we can strengthen local culture, stimulate the economy, and foster a more connected, vibrant community. CONTACT Pipiripau 721 S.
