Braille Institute is a nonprofit that has been positively transforming the lives of individuals with blindness and low vision for over 100 years. They offer a range of programs, classes, and services to thousands of children and adults of all ages and all stages of vision loss at their Santa Barbara center and six other locations in Southern California, as well as through remote virtual services. The Braille Institute offers free services, classes, workshops, and consultations for people with low to no vision, both in-person and online How and when did the business get started? Braille Institute of America started in 1919 by founder Robert Atkinson who started the Universal Braille Press then later to become Braille Institute of America. What is the company's mission? The mission of Braille Institute of America is to positively transform the lives of those with vision loss by empowering them to live their best lives and by eliminating barriers to a fulfilling life caused by blindness and severe sight loss. The organization achieves this by providing a range of free services, resources, and programs to individuals of all ages who are blind or have low vision, as well as their families How can the business community help?
