On May 20, participants of the Oxnard Leadership Program explored the connections between housing, community development and transportation during a newly created session for 2022.
On April 15, the Class of 2022 Oxnard Leadership Program visited some of the city's hidden gems with local historian Jeff Maulhardt, Director of the Oxnard Historic Farm Park. The group visited the Farm Park (home to two of the city's oldest structures), the site of the original sugar beet factory built in the 1890s by Henry T. Oxnard, and Heritage Square, where docent Tom Von Allmen led their private tour. The group ended the day relaxing at 1901 Speakeasy, the unique bar located in the basement of one of the square's historic homes.
The 2022 Oxnard Leadership Program is officially underway with the largest class in the program's history. Representing an array of industries, the 16 participants met on March 18 with county and city leaders for a session focused on government.
