What products or services do you provide?
Bernzott Capital Advisors is a value-oriented, boutique investment advisory firm. Our services include advice and discretionary asset management.

We serve institutions and individuals. We manage accounts for foundations, endowments, qualified retirement plans, individual retirement accounts, trusts, and families. 

We tailor portfolios to our client's needs, risk tolerance and time horizon. Client service is at the forefront of everything we do. We have successfully added value for clients by adhering to a well-defined investment philosophy and strategy. We do our own research and employ a variety of investments in the construction of client portfolios.
 
How and when did the business get started?
Kevin Bernzott founded the firm in 1994 after serving as CEO of a family office. Family members were the initial clients, and many remain clients to this day.   

Our investment approach has its roots in the philosophy and process Kevin initially developed and implemented. His less-traveled path to an investment career included real estate development, asset management, investing, and a law degree.  

Our team is tenured and proven, averaging 25 years of experience. A small, focused investment team executes our concentrated, low-turnover approach. The team is comprised of investors who leverage their years of experience enabling efficiency of workflow, collaboration, and decision making.  

Our employees are committed to excellence and a “client first” philosophy.  The firm is SEC registered and adheres to the investment advisor fiduciary standard.

We do our own research and ignore the noise of Wall Street. Our client service is second to none. We are employee owned and operated.

Why did you choose Ventura County for the business location?
Bernzott Capital Advisors was founded in 1994 in Ventura County.  It emerged from a local family office managed by Kevin Bernzott. The company's initial investors were local families and businesses, many of which remain clients to this day.

Service is at the heart of everything we do. Our founder, Kevin Bernzott spent nearly two decades as a Ventura County Sheriff's Reserve Deputy. Our CEO, Mark Scott, served in the US Marine Corps. We want to give back to the people and organizations that serve our community. That is why we offer our services at half our standard fee to law enforcement and military members and local non-profits.
