The decisions voters make in November will shape the direction of the communities we serve for years to come. Ultimately, these choices will dictate the ability of local businesses to invest and grow, and ensure our workforce and communities thrive.

The mission of the WVCBA's Political Action Committee (PAC) is to seek out, evaluate qualifications of, and endorse candidates for public office who support the ideals of our free enterprise system. The PAC evaluates candidates for local, county and state offices, and hosts candidate forums for local and state elections. The PAC is comprised of current members of WVCBA's Board of Directors.

WVCBA encourages every eligible voter to ensure they are registered to vote by October 19 in order to participate in the November 3 general election. Further, we hope voters do their due diligence and research the candidates and issues prior to heading to the polls.

BALLOT MEASURES

Following the recommendation from WVCBA’s Business Advocacy Committee (BAC), the WVCBA Board of Directors has taken positions on local and statewide ballot measures for the November 3 general election. WVCBA takes positions on issues that directly affect the business community.

SUPPORT: City of Oxnard Ballot Measure E
Renews Measure O, the City of Oxnard’s existing, voter-approved ½ cent local sales tax until ended by voters, to maintain city services that Oxnard residents have identified as important, without raising the tax rates that local residents currently pay.

SUPPORT: Local Ballot Measure D
Authorizes United Water Conservation District to issue $350 million in bonds for water conservation projects and levy a tax at a rate of $24 per $100,000 of assessed value to repay the bonds.
